Liangjiang New Area (North Zone) hosted a school-enterprise employment fair on September 12 for 40 key enterprises in the region and 2015 session Chongqing college graduates in a bid to provide a platform for face-to-face communications, and deepen the cooperation between school and enterprise. 40 key enterprises and 40 local colleges attended the fair, where employment information and the demand for skills were directly communicated.
40 enterprises attended the event, including Changan Automobile, AT & S, SAIC-GM-Wuling, who brought 5,000 job opportunities, while participating colleges and universities from Chongqing, including Chongqing University, Chongqing University of Science and Technology, Chongqing Industrial Vocational and Technical College brought 10,000 jobseekers' information.
Luo Hong, director of Liangjiang New Area Talent Exchange Center said that, as the first national level opening zone of the inland district, Liangjiang aims to achieve the goal of one trillion yuan industrial output in 2020, including 500 billion yuan industrial output in the automotive sector, 400 billion yuan for electronic information, 200 billion yuan on of high-end equipment manufacturing, 50 billion yuan on general aviation and 50 billion yuan in the biomedicines sector. To meet this end, Liangjiang needs one million skilled workers, but currently the area can only house 688,000 staff, where the gap is still large.
Currently, Liangjiang New Area Industrial Development Zone is home to nearly 200 enterprises, whose demand for labor mainly focuses on automobile manufacturing, electronic information and other fields. SAIC-GM-Wuling, which will be put into use by the end of this year, needs 2,000 skilled workers and BOE's employment needs will reach 11,000. In the next three years, with the rapid development of major projects, the need for innovative and skilled workers will rapidly increase.
Deng Meitao, head of Liangjiang New Area Party Committee Organization Department said that the district always adheres to the "Human resource is the primary resource" concept, and has established a plan which highlights the priority of human resources development and investment in human resources.
