Data issued by Liangjiang New Area Administrative Committee shows that from January to August 2014, the industrial enterprises above a designated size kept their fast growth. Their accumulated value reached 272 billion yuan, an increase of 27.8 percent, 13 percentage points higher than the city-level. The sales value was 269 billion yuan, up 27.9 percent, with a sales rate of 98.8 percent.
A spokesman said that while maintaining the high growth of industrial output, the profit of Liangjiang enterprises also rose sharply. From January to July, above-scale industrial enterprises realized profits of 19.8 billion yuan, an increase of 71.1 percent. The total profit and tax was 30.21 billion yuan, an increase of 53.9 percent.
As an important sector in Liangjiang New Area, the output value of the auto industry was 135 billion yuan, an increase of 29.9 percent. Total auto production was 1.1 million, an increase of 24.5 percent, including 626,000 cars, an increase of 20.1 percent, and 249,900 sport utility vehicles (SUV), up 64.1 percent.
On the aspect of settled auto enterprises, Changan Ford, the auto manufacturer of Mondeo, Focus, Fiesta and other popular cars, maintained steady growth for the first eight months of 2014.
The production levels in Changan YuBei factory, the auto manufacturer of Yat move, CS35 and other independent car products and Changan Jiangbei factory, which is located in Yufu Industrial Park, have increased dramatically.
In addition, Shuguang Yufu Automotive Industrial Park, located in Yufu Industrial Park and Chongqing Yazaki Instrument Factory, a subsidiary of Japan’s Yazaki, were recently put into operation which will boost the auto industry.
In the first eight months of 2014, the total output value of Liangjiang New Area’s electronic industry reached 60 billion yuan, an increase of 24.7 percent, 0.6 percentage points higher than that from January to July. Laptop production was 16 million units, up 27.9 percent. The output value of the equipment manufacturing industry was 19 billion yuan, an increase of 14.8 percent.
The newly opened Liangjiang New Area Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (Shuitu base) has received the first batch of 21 small innovative technology companies, which cover the areas of robotics, intelligent terminals, new materials, aviation and unmanned aerial vehicles and so on.
The spokesman said that for the next step, Liangjiang will focus on the industrial output’s continued growth and industrial structure adjustment and optimization in a bid to achieve the 2014 development goal.
