An ROK National Assembly delegation, led by the National Assembly Speaker Kim Hyong-o, visited Liangjiang New Area on December 20.
Kim Hyong-o highly praised Liangjiang New Area’s rapid development and wrote down his wish of "Achieving the Chinese dream!" in the guest book.
The delegation visited Liangjiang New Area’s Planning Exhibition Center, where members were briefed about the establishment, functions, industrial layout, and development strategies of Liangjiang New Area. They also watched a promotional video in Korean and were impressed by Liangjiang’s ambitious goal of achieving an output value of 400 billion yuan ($ 64.29 billion) for its electronic information industry, 500 billion yuan for its automobile industry, and 200 billion yuan for the high-end equipment industry by 2020.
From January to October this year, the volume of trade between South Korea and Chongqing increased 3.4 times. Six sister-country agreements have been established and cooperation in economics, trade and cultural fields have been strengthened.
Hao Ming, vice director of Liangjiang New Area Administrative Committee accompanied them on the visit.
