Bombardier Flight Training Center to be brought into use next year China Express Airlines recently announced that it plans to build Asia's first Bombardier Flight Training Center in Chongqing Municipality. It is expected to open by the end of next year. By then, Bombardier CRJ900 aircraft pilots will be able to complete their training in Chongqing, without travelling abroad. China Express Airlines is the first and only airline company that specializes in regional cargo transportation in China. Currently, it has opened 50 routes to 40 destinations. All its routes are run using Canadian Bombardier CRJ Series aircraft, which is one of the world's most advanced regional jets.
Currently, Bombardier Flight Training Centers have only been established in Toronto (Canada), Madrid (Spain), and Copenhagen (Denmark) worldwide. Pilots are requested to attend pre-service training and after induction to attend refresher training annually in one of these training centers. Staff from China Express Airlines said that the transportation fees for pilots, instructors, and inspectors to attend the training courses can reach nearly 10 million yuan ($ 1.61 million)every year.
