A cloud computing and big data industrial chain has begun to take shape in Chongqing's Liangjiang New Area, Chongqing Daily reported.
"As a new industry, cloud computing has entered and been promoted in Chongqing for only a couple of years. However, the settlement center, planning and design of the server, and the development of software applications have all entered an explosive growth stage," said a staff member from the Chongqing Cloud Industry Association.
According to the Chongqing Commission of Economy and Information Technology, by last August, Chongqing had constructed the national Internet backbone straight point . Chongqing is now one of the 10 first class points in the national communication network framework, which is attractive to cloud computing and big data enterprises. By now, different cloud computing projects including the Pacific Telecom Data Center, China Unicom Western Data Center, China Telecom Western Data Center and Tencent Data Center have entered Liangjiang International Cloud Computing Industrial Park.
IZP, a high-tech enterprise that first proposed the "big data marketing strategy", has constructed a cross-border e-commerce platform for export that has attracted about 2,000 local small to medium-sized businesses.
In 2014, the revenue of Chongqing's software and information services industry reached 135 billion yuan ($21.78 billion).
