According to the Chongqing Science Association, 14 automated production lines were put into use in 2014, marking the large-scale application of robots in production lines, Chongqing Daily reported.
Last year, Chongqing's science enterprises strove to make a technological breakthrough in different 17 areas including robot structure optimization, 3D printing and arc welding. At the same time, 22 robots in 14 series were developed, 15 of which entered the low volume production stage, driving a related output value of more than one billion yuan ($160 million).
In regard to the production platform construction and talent team construction, four testing platforms have been constructed including a Servo Drive Platform.
The Chongqing Robot Center, the first robot experience hall in China, introduced seven international high-end talents and trained about 40 skilled workers, constructing a well-rounded talent team for Chongqing's robot industry.
A staff member from the Chongqing Science Association stated that the robot industrial base is expected to take shape in 2015. Therefore, Chongqing will carry out the development and integrated innovation of robot components and generalize the use of robots among enterprises.
