According to the government of the Liangjiang New Area, the second-stage construction Minguo Street is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter. By then, Chongqing's traditional landmark buildings will be reopened to the public.
The construction on Minguo Street is currently underway and the front part of the Monument of Liberation (Jiefangbei) will be soon begin construction. The foundations of the underground car park are currently being laid and the car park is expected to be put into use in the fourth quarter of this year, alleviating Minguo Street’s car park congestion.
The total construction area of the Liangjiang Minguo Street second-stage construction project will be around 10 hectares, including three hectares of underground construction.
The second stage project around Minguo Street will put more focus on visitor entertainment and experience. Visitors will be able to experience the culture and scenery of the Minguo period (1912-1949) after the project is completed. A professional film group will record some period dramas on the street and visitors will be able to wear traditional costumes from the Minguo period, as well as participate in some roles in the drama.
Minguo Street is located in the Liangjiang International Studio City in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality.
