Liangjiang New Area released its new Smart City Strategy recently, according to the new area's construction authority.
The strategy lays out Liangjiang's plans to complete an investment of 16 billion yuan before 2020 in its smart city construction. By then, seven sections will have been constructed according to the plan, including the smart transportation and smart policy.
In 2015, Liangjiang plans to make an investment of 1.13 billion yuan towards the construction of its network infrastructure and data infrastructure construction. Meanwhile, the preliminary construction of public information platforms, smart city construction systems, intelligent housing systems and the Longxing smart headquarters are expected to be completed in 2015.
The report noted that during the peak hours of transportation, traffic congestion occurs in Liangjiang. To solve this problem, the new area will introduces a transportation smart system containing functions of parking information management and road emergency safety management. The system would improve the area's intelligent traffic management level and ensure that road congestion is eased and that roads are safer.
An observable benefit to the adoption of smart technology systems in Liangjiang is the area's green spaces. Stroll around the city and one might be able to see that grassy areas in the new area are flourishing. The scenery owes to the area's smart landscape spray system which can monitor the moisture in the soil and irrigate based on scientific data.
The strategy also proposes the construction of a public housing database to realize a more standardized and systematic approach to public housing management.
