A special train line connecting Chongqing's Guoyuan port with China's rail network is expected to be put into operation in June, according to the official website of the Liangjiang New Area.
At present, 80 percent of Guoyuan port's warehouse construction has been completed. After the construction of warehouse, a bulk set think center will be put into operation and by then, the pivotal status of Guoyuan port will emerge.
According to the construction schedule, the special rail line at Guoyuan port will have a transportation capacity of 10 million ton.
The Lanzhou-Chongqing railway is expected to be put into operation by June. By then, cargos from Shanxi, Gansu and Xinjiang will be transited to Guoyuan port, bringing about an abundance of cargo there.
As China's biggest railway, road and water transportation center, Guoyuan port has accelerated its structural adjustments and function expansion to provide fresh momentum for regional economic development.
