Construction on the Yuelai Sewage Station is expected to begin this year and will be put into operation in 2016, according to the Liangjiang administrative committee.
The sewage station will serve the Yuelai zone and Konggang new area.
According to statistics, the daily sewage treatment capacity of the new sewage station is expected to reach 50,000 cubic meters in near future, while long-term planning suggests that the daily treatment capacity will reach 100,000 cubic meters. By then, the station will serve a bigger area of 79.3 square kilometers, including the Huagoupian area.
Another project, the Guoyuan Sewage Station, is in full swing and is expected to be finished in September. The completion of the Guoyuan Sewage Station is expected to significantly boost the area's sewage treatment capacity.
Liangjiang will strengthen the construction of its sewage project which includes three new sewage stations and a total investment of 1.38 billion yuan ($222 million). The sewage project is expected to help improve Liangjiang's infrastructure service ability.
