The robotic industry in Liangjiang is taking off, according to the Liangjiang administrative committee. To strengthen the industry, Liangjiang, a new area in southwest China's Chongqing municipality, has actively created platforms to promote robotics and robot-related enterprises.
At present, more than 20 robot enterprises have gathered in the new area, creating a scaled robot industrial cluster.
"The production industry requires artificially intelligent mechanisms to increase productivity," said a senior staff member from the Chongqing Xinhua Logistics Company. Under the wave of production automation, more and more production companies have started to introduce industrial robots to improve productivity. According to the Chongqing Science Association, 14 automated production lines were put into use in 2014, marking the large-scale application of robots in production lines.
At the same time, the robot industry has developed an increasing demand for talent. To solve this problem, the Liangjiang Robot Industry Training Center (the only robot training center in China) launched training sessions on robot usage, service, research and promotion.
Achieving the transformation and upgrade of the robot industry is interrelated with Chongqing's industrial quality and economic targets.
In regard to the problems of talent shortage and financial difficulties, the deputy secretary of the Liangjiang administrative committee, Tang Zong Wei, said that the new area will construct five new platforms and one construction area to support Liangjiang’s robot industry.
