A cooperation forum between Germany's industrial cluster and Chongqing, jointly organized by the Liangjiang administrative committee and China Economic Consulting Corporation, was held on March 31 in the Chongqing Fashion Exhibition Center.
More than 20 domestic and overseas experts gathered together to discuss international industrial cooperation and to promote Liangjiang's development by taking advantage of the Belt and Road Initiative.
The forum introduced different projects, including Germany's high-tech industry cluster projects and Germany's Life Science Park industry cluster projects to construct a platform to introduce them to Chongqing.
According to Wei Jianguo, deputy director of the China Center for International Economic Exchange, China and Germany have both focused heavily on the real economy and exporting. Both countries own trade and foreign exchange reserves.
Zhang Sijia, project leader of the China Economic Consulting Corporation, pointed out that China needs to promote its research in major manufacturing areas, construct a national information network platform, speed up talent training and promote the country's innovation ability.
According to the forum, the German industrial cluster projects will receive support for opening branches in China. At present, a 2 billion euro ($2.16 billion) fund has been gathered to support Germany's middle and small-sized enterprises entering China. The fund can also be used to support Chinese companies in making acquisitions.
