A new semiconductor display production line project from BOE Technology Group - the world's leading supplier of semiconductor display technology, products and services – has been put into production in the Liangjiang's Shuidu Industrial Development Zone.
A product launch ceremony was held in the zone on April 8, where six 55-inch LCD products were delivered to BOE's customers: Konka, Skyworth, Changhong, Haier and Hisense.
The construction work on BOE's new project took 16.5 months, a record time for BOE's project construction speed.
According to the Liangjiang administrative committee, BOE's new project will play a significant role in promoting the transformation and upgrading of Liangjiang's information industry.
The mayor of Chongqing, Huang Qifan, attended the product launch ceremony and predicted that the market demand of LCD optical film would double in five years, thanks to the rapid development of electronic information technology.
As the seventh display device production line of BOE's semiconductor display production line project is its seventh display device production line to date. The production line took up an area of 69.33 hectares and received an investment of 32.80 billion yuan ($5.15 billion). The project is expected to provide around 8,000 job opportunities and attract a number of skilled professionals to Chongqing.
