The China (Chongqing) International Logistics Exhibition will be held in the Chongqing International Expo Center in Liangjiang new area from Nov 6-8, according to the exhibition organization committee.

As a transportation hub and an important center of International logistics, Chongqing is expected to play a significant role in promoting the communication and commerce between China and other countries in Europe and Asia.

The upcoming logistics exhibition will present Chongqing's strategic role in the country's Belt and Road Initiatives, namely, the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, put forward by Chinese President Xi Jinping during his visits to Kazakhstan and Indonesia in 2013.

According to the exhibition organization committee, a total of 10 exhibition areas will be open to the public, including the exhibition areas of logistics equipment and cold-chain logistics. Apart from the logistics industry, the exhibition will also highlight the new business patterns of new energy resources and smart transportation.

According to Bai Yang, a member of the exhibition organization committee, the logistics exhibition will focus on presenting the open economy structure of Chongqing municipality. Bai believes that Chongqing has distinct advantages in logistics industry. In Liangjiang new area, the first fruit port and meat port of China's western regions have already started operations.

Statistics show that more than 3,000 companies, including the Bank of China and Volvo Cars took part in the China (Chongqing) International Logistics Exhibition in the past.
