A photography competition has been launched to mark the fifth anniversary of establishment of the Liangjiang New Area, according to the Liangjiang administrative committee. The competition will close on Dec 30.

Professional photographers, amateur enthusiasts and local citizens are all welcome to join the competition. The total winning prize pool has reached 100,000 yuan ($16,110), with the largest winning prize amounting to 10,000 yuan.

The photography competition is expected to provide a platform for the people to present the change and development of Liangjiang over the last five years with their photos. The photos submitted can vary and could include such things as the new area's business project, scenery, culture and facilities.

Competitors at the event will be divided into the three groups of professionals, amateurs and also a group comprised by the staff members from the Liangjiang administrative committee.

Following the trend of multimedia development, special pages of the competition will be opened on the Sina Weibo website and on the official website of the Liangjiang New Area. A column called "Image of Liangjiang" will also be opened on Liangjiang's official WeChat account.

The professional group and the staff member group from the Liangjiang administrative committee can send their entry photographs to liangjiangxcb@163.com, while the competitors from the amateur group can follow the official WeChat account of the Liangjiang New Area (account number: cqliangjiangxinqu) and join the competition in accordance with the requirements which have been released via the Liangjiang official WeChat account.
