Inspur Group, a leading cloud computing solution and service provider, signed a contract with the Liangjiang New Area on June 19. The contract will allow Inspur Group to establish a new data center in the area, according to the Liangjiang administrative committee.
According to the construction plan for the project, the data center will be constructed in accordance with the fourth generation of data centers and will contain 6,500 cabinets and 700,000 servers.
According to Zheng Wei, a staff member of Inspur Group, the Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of the new data center will be less than 1.5. The average PUE is two and the lower the number, the more efficient and environmentally friendly the system is.
As one of China's oldest IT companies, Inspur Group has, for many years, been known for its advancements in technology and exclusive software. According to an IT industry expert, customers of cloud computing services no longer need to worry about information safety.
In 2015, Liangjiang New Area has placed emphasis on supporting the development of nine strategic emerging industries, including cloud computing and big data industries. Once completed, the new data center will help to promote the construction of a cloud computing industrial chain in the area.
