The Chongqing municipal government has released a practical suggestion to promote the city's sports industry, according to Chongqing Daily.
Outlined in the practical suggestion is a development goal for the sports industry for the next 10 years. By 2020, the per capita sports ground area should reach 1.7 square meters, while the physical examination pass rate of local citizens should reach 93 percent, according the goal set by the government. Additionally, the gross output of the city's sports industry is expected to reach 100 billion yuan ($16.11 billion) by 2025.
According to the proposals, a focus will be put on the development of the sports service industry. The integration of sports, pension service and cultural creative industries will be highlighted.
The plan points out that a cloud platform named Chongqing Sports will also be constructed to support local enterprises in carrying out sports service businesses. Chongqing will follow Southeast China's Jiangsu province in trying out the one-card service system which allows medical insurance account balances to be used for physical fitness.
