A two-month exhibition and butterfly and firefly-releasing activity got underway at the Chongqing Expo on July 10, aiming to provide kids a chance get up close and personal with insects.
According to the Chongqing Expo, a long term biological science exhibition will also be held in the near future.

Entering the S6 Center in Chongqing Expo, visitors will find a 3,000-square-meter release area for butterflies and fireflies. A releasing activity will be held every day in the center. A total of 100,000 butterflies and fireflies will be released from the Chongqing Expo.
"My daughter has never seen real butterflies and fireflies, and I take her here to have a look," said a visitor who was teaching her daughter to observe the butterflies.
With the progress of urbanization, less and less living spaces are available for butterflies and fireflies. More and more children can only see the insects from books, according to Zheng Tao, the project director of the activity.
"We hope that children can know the butterflies and fireflies better through the activity," said Zheng.
