In the first half of this year, Liangjiang has attracted 270 projects accounting for investments worth 153.2 billion yuan ($24.67 billion) - including the foreign investment worth $3.7 billion - according to the Liangjiang administrative committee.
Statistics show that Liangjiang has attracted 2,451 investment projects since its establishment in 2010, with a contracting investment of 980.6 billion yuan. So far, a total of 1,768 projects have been constructed and been put into operation.
Liangjiang administrative committee says that the new area attracted quality investment around its pillar industries. It has put focus on upgrading the automobile industry chain. Additionally, Liangjiang has promoted its industry transformation and upgrading. Strategic emerging industry projects have been carried out in the new area, such as the Kawasaki robotic project.
More importantly, five investment projects in Liangjiang have been invested in by the Fortune 500 companies, including Japan's Hitachi Ltd.
