Authorities in Chongqing municipality recently released a city construction plan stressing the importance of protecting and utilizing the city's nature landscape.
The plan revealed that 15 new parks will be constructed in Chongqing's Liangjiang New Area, including four wetland parks and one country park.
The site selection and construction of the parks will be based on the principle of protecting the natural environment and landscape, according to the Liangjiang planning bureau.
A mountain protection list has also been released as part of the plan. It requires that mountains with obvious geographical features should gain preferential protection.
