Representatives from 16 Asian and European-based media groups visited Chongqing's Liangjiang New Area on Sept 19, according to the Liangjiang administrative committee.
During the visit to Liangjiang, media representatives visited the Liangjiang Planning Exhibition Hall, Chongqing International Expo Center and Chongqing Subway Ltd's headquarters.
Media representatives expressed their impression of the city after the visit. One reporter from the Russian Gazette said, "Before, I knew that Chongqing was a big city but after the visit I've realized that the city is also a modern city."
Representatives of the media delegation were from 16 different countries, including Tajikistan, Ukraine and Georgia.
According to a staff member from the Chongqing International Expo Center, enterprises from Russia have exhibited products at the center's exhibition before and expressed their hoped to have opportunities to cooperate with more foreign enterprises in the future.
"Chongqing has experienced rapid development in recent years; I hope that countries along the Belt and Road Initiative can further communication and cooperation," said a senior from a local newspaper group in Tajikistan.

John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
