Chongqing Guoyuan Containers and Wharf Company, a subsidiary of Chongqing Port Logistic Group, recently hosted a workers' skills contest, liangjiang.gov.cn reported on Oct 10.
Over 200 workers took part in the competition. They have seven types of jobs involving construction of shore bridges; two of the jobs are electrician and locksmith.
"The competition will inspire us to be more efficient during work," said Liu Rui, a worker from the company.
According to general manager Liu Jian, the company will attach more importance to the cultivation of skilled talent and make the contest a long-term mechanism that will offer workers an opportunity to exchange experience and tips from their daily work.
"The competition is an opportunity for us to showcase our skills. I learned about others' strengths and will work harder and smarter in the future," said Liu Donghua, a winner of the contest.
The winners will represent Chongqing Guoyuan Containers and Wharf Company at the working skills contest of Chongqing Port Logistic Group in November.
