Wealthinwisdom Science and Technology Company, a high-tech company in Liangjiang New Area, launched an app on Oct 11, liangjiang.gov.cn reported.
The company is a subsidiary of Chongqing Songde Renewable Resource Company and was founded in July this year. Focusing on waste sorting and recycling, the company has developed an app through which users can "throw away" their waste belongings.
"We are rag collectors," said Cai Hongde, CEO of the company. "But the rags are treasures in our eyes," said Fan Yinglong, general manager of the company.
Users make reservations through the app for a time for throw-away items to be collected and they can get credits when the collection is finished. The credits can be changed into rice or cooking oils. A household of three people can expect to earn rewards worth 90-150 yuan ($14-24).
So far, the app has been downloaded over 2000 times and the group has been expanded from four to 60 members. The company is having professional training for its staff.
In addition, thanks to the app, the company can provide employment opportunities for citizens who have abundant time and prefer working near home, such as seniors and housewives.
The company has signed cooperation agreements with many real estate management companies and will be used in dozens of residential communities by the end of this year. It will serve a population of 300,000 by the end of 2016.
