Ying Yong, the deputy Party chief of Shanghai, visited Chongqing's Liangjiang New Area on Oct 17. The main aim of the visit was to investigate the development situation of the new area, according to the Liangjiang administrative committee.

A conference was held during Ying's visit, at which the development situation of Shanghai and Chongqing was discussed. Speaking at the conference, the Chongqing deputy Party chief, Zhang Guoqing, introduced the municipalities' pillar industries. According to Zhang, the industrial added value of Liangjiang New Area accounts for over 30 percent of its GDP (Gross Domestic Product).
Liangjiang is making efforts to establish itself as a financial center on the upper reaches of Yangtze River.

At the Liangjiang Planning Exhibition Hall, Ling introduced Liangjiang's construction plan, industrial distribution and administrative system. He pointed out that Liangjiang plays a significant role in connecting the Yuxinou (Chongqing-Xinjiang-Europe) International Railway with the Yangtze River channel.
Ying expressed praise for Liangjiang's fast development in the last five years after hearing Lin's introduction. According to Ying, Liangjiang has a bright future in terms of its development.
