The 2015 Tecent Global Partner Conference opened at the Chongqing Yuelai International Conference Center on Oct 23.
Speaking at the conference, Yan Ping, director of the Chongqing Publicity Department, expressed his desire for leading Internet enterprises such as Tencent to take advantage of their technological assets to promote Chongqing’s economic transition.
According to Yan, Chongqing has responded positively to the country's Internet Plus strategy and has carried out construction projects to build itself into a smart city. Some of the country's leading enterprises, such as Tencent and Wanda Group, have recently established bases in the municipality. Ten cultural projects, one of which is the Tencent Entrepreneur Space, are being undertaken there.
A number of local enterprises have, with the support of government-backed initiatives, grown into leading enterprises in their respective industries.
A key task for the municipal authorities has been to integrate its media platforms into a modern communication system. Once achieved, the next step will be to construct a new mobile media platform.
