With the demand for gas in Liangjiang increasing in line with its economic development, authorities have earmarked the construction of a 19.63 kilometer gas pipeline. The proposed development will receive a total investment of 17.67 million yuan ($2.78 million) and when completed, is expected to meet the gas needs of the area for the foreseeable future.
According to the Liangjiang administrative committee, the new gas pipeline will serve Liangjiang's Shuitu Industrial Park, Longxing Industrial Park, Longxing Industrial Park and Yufu Industrial Park.
The section of pipeline at Geli Road in Longxing Industrial Park will be 2.97 kilometers long and carry an expected daily gas transmitting volume of 13.6*100,000 cubic meters. It will predominantly serve the SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) Automobile Co Chongqing branch.
According to a senior employee of Chongqing Chuangang Gas Company and the project's undertaker, the new gas pipelines will feature sealed gas technology to safeguard against gas leakages and improve safety standards.
