Four Chongqing residents were licensed to pilot private helicopters on Nov 9, liangjiang.gov.cn reported.
They are the first licensed pilots in Chongqing. Their helicopters were made by Enstrom Helicopter Corporation, a company in Liangjiang.
A lady surnamed Li, the only woman among the four pilots, learned to fly a helicopter out of personal interest. She is optimistic about the industry’s prospects.
Li says that most private helicopter pilots are rich people who can afford and want to operate a personal helicopter for themselves.
She began her training in January and after obtaining a license for private helicopters, she is now considering a business license. With that license, she may work for aviation companies or clients.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
