Liangjiang New Area recently launched 25 pilot projects in the service industry, liangjiang.gov.cn reported.
Among the new projects, five are modern logistics programs with total investment of 23 million yuan ($3.6 million). Eight are e-commerce programs, with an investment of 19 million yuan, and twelve are information service programs, with an investment of 51 million yuan.
The logistics programs include a city delivery program, a cold chain delivery program and a third-party smart warehouse and delivery center. The e-commerce program includes a community business smart service program.
The information service programs include a smart business platform, an E-commerce program, a passengers services program for Chongqing Airport, and an E-commerce data analysis program.
Liangjiang aims to establish itself as a cluster for modern services, focusing on modern logistics, business, e-commerce, , exhibitions and outsourcing.
Thanks to the Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport, Guoyuan Port and Cuntan Port, Liangjiang is developing modern logistics with a focus on rail-river joint shipments and bonded trade. The revenue of the logistic industry in Liangjiang New Area increased 18 percent in the first three quarters of this year.
Apart from the logistics industry, Liangjiang is promoting cloud computing and big data, focusing on international e-commerce and internet industrial parks.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
