Liangjiang will take part in the World Robot Conference 2015 in Beijing from Nov 23-25.

The new area will present its latest intelligent equipment, according to the Liangjiang administrative committee.

Jointly organized by the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) and Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the conference will include a forum, an exhibition and a robot competition for teenagers.

Representatives from enterprises, universities and scientific research institutions will be invited to the conference, which aims to construct a platform to display the world's latest achievements in robot research. The conference will act as a robot industrial communication platform to serve domestic and overseas robot enterprises.

Eight enterprises based in Liangjiang, including the Kawasaki, will participate in the conference to demonstrate Liangjiang New Area's technical strength and scientific achievements.

Kawasaki is a world-leading robotics company. It is an industry leader in the development of a new robotics system integration project and robot construction base in Liangjiang Shuitu Industrial Park. It committed to a substantial financial investment on June 19. The investment commitment marks a notable step in the development of Chongqing's robotics industry.

Liangjiang is currently focusing on constructing itself into a manufacturing zone for robot units. The annual output value of the new area's robotics industry is expected to reach 30 million yuan ($4.71 million) by 2020.
