The Chongqing International Exhibition Center recently received the China Quality Projects Award, the highest honor for the construction industry in China, liangjiang.gov.cn reported.
The Chongqing Yuelai Investment Group began construction of the exhibition center in July 2010. It was put into operation in October 2013.
So far, 48 exhibitions, 21 performances and more than 220 conferences have been held at the center.
The Chongqing International Exhibition Center is the most important structure suitable for top-layer exhibitions along the Yangtze River.
The exhibition center was honored as a landmark venue for Chongqing municipality. It not only stimulates the local economy in Chongqing but also enhances the city’s influence.
The nomination process for the award began in June 2015 with nearly 1,000 people participating. The center passed three phases of inspection before winning the honor.
The exhibition center has also won several other honors such as a green energy efficient construction award, and a science and technology award from the China Steel Association.
