"We are busy preparing for the first performance at International Circus City -- we hope to show local Chongqing culture via performances there,” said Chen Tao, vice CEO of the Chongqing Art Performance Group.
Chen noted that the troupe has been busy preparing for the performances since early 2015. The performances at the site will mainly be done by 110 members of the acrobatic troupe.
Chen also noted that his group has invited a famous event design company from the US to be the creativity director.
Apart from circus performances, the magic show is another highlight of Circus city. It’s full of elements with Chongqing characteristics. Audiences can see landmark architecture including Chaotianmen and Jiefangbei as background sets in the show.
Each performance will be from 1 hour and three quarters to two hours, with ten minutes of Intermission.
Apart from acrobatics and magic shows, children in Chongqing also look forward to animal performances featuring dogs, horses, orangutans, and black bears.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
