Spring Airline launched its IT innovation Center in Beibu New Area Internet Industrial Park on Jan 20, liangjiang.gov.cn reported.
Ling Yueming, director of the Liangjiang New Area Administration Committee, attended the ceremony and unveiled the plaque for the center.
"We rely on IT innovation for leap-forward development," said Wang Zhenghua, chairmen of Spring Airlines. He noted that thanks to IT innovation the company was able to reduce operational costs and become the largest low cost airline in China.
The newly established IT innovation center is poised to become an IT innovation center for the aviation industry. The center has already developed a batch of science and technology projects and a serious of systematic solutions for other airlines.
So far, Spring Airlines has domestic flights to Shanghai, Luoyang, Shijiazhuang, Shenyang, and Shenzhen, and international flights to Osaka, Japan. This February, Spring Airlines will launch flights to Tokyo, with discounted airline tickets of 99 yuan.
"In the future, Spring Airlines will try to launch more domestic and international routes in Chongqing, so that Chongqing residents can enjoy the benefits of a low cost airline," said Wang.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
