China's first specialized credit and guarantee insurance company, Sunshine Yurong Insurance, began operations in the Liangjiang New Area of the mega-city of Chongqing, on Jan 30, with 1 billion yuan ($152 million) in registered capital.
The company provides financial services, such as credit insurance, guarantee insurance, consumer loans, supply chain financing, credit risk assessment, and assets securitization mainly for micro-to-small-sized enterprises and is expected to help them reduce risks, Chongqing Business Daily has reported.
Sunshine Yurong has recently signed strategic cooperation agreements with nine finance institutions, including the Chongqing Rural Commercial Bank, China Construction Bank's Chongqing branch and Jingdong Finance.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
