The National Gas Vehicle Engineering Technology Research Center was recently listed as one of 22 national science and technology service industry trial institutions by the Ministry of Science and Technology, liangjiang.gov.cn reported.

Being recognized as a trial organization will promote science and technology innovation and benefit transfer of scientific research results. It will also boost integration of science and economy in the area.

The trial institution selection is a step in implementing the State Council’s suggestion on accelerating development of science and technological service industries. Its ultimate goal is to benefit strategic emerging industries while updating traditional ones.

The National Gas Vehicle Engineering Technology Research Center is a subsidiary of the China Automobile Engineering Research Institute, a company settled in Liangjiang New Area.

It is the only national research center and science and technology research base related to gas automobiles that has gained approval from the Ministry of Science and Technology.

The research center will establish a gas automobile engine technology service platform and offer technology services to reduce carbon emissions and fuel consumption. Its vision is to enhance gas automobile technology in China and the international competitiveness of Chinese gas automobile-related products.

The Liangjiang center stood out among 90 institutions around the country and made it to the final 22 after two rounds of panel reviews.
