The Liangjiang Electronic Car Development Forum will be held in Chongqing on May 20,liangjiang.gov.cn reported.
Compared with traditional automobiles, electronic cars have higher requirements for materials and thus pose greater R & D challenges.
Light materials are the focus of the forum. The forum hopes to promote cooperation between electronic car manufacturers and material manufacturers.
The forum will bring together industrial experts, scholars and business representatives to focus on new electronic car materials from China and elsewhere. It will address specific problems such as the challenges of using composite and non-metallic materials in automobiles.
The forum is cosponsored by the Chongqing Trade Promotional Council, the Chongqing Automobile Engineering Council, the Chongqing Automobile Innovation Center and the Chongqing Science and Technology Institute.
A Chongqing International Electronic Car Industrial Show will also be held in May. The show will focus on creating an entire supply chain for electronic cars ranging from batteries and charging posts to the finished car.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
