Chongqing Huida Lemon Company exported 30 tons of fresh lemons via Yuxinou Railway on March 7, Chongqing Daily reported.
Tongnan district in Chongqing was recognized as a PEOP (Protected Eco-Origin Product) Demonstration Zone and a National Export Food Quality Demonstration Area.
The district has set up a complete quality safety management system which greatly enhances the quality of lemons in the district.
Chongqing offered free inspection of water, soil and air for Tongnan lemon companies. The lemon companies plan to export 70,000 tons of lemon this year.
Yuxinou is an international railway that connects Chongqing with Europe. It began operation in 2011 and runs through many countries including Russia, Poland and Germany.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
