Chongqing experiences cross-border ecommerce boom

Cross-border ecommerce in Chongqing prospered in 2015, with annual sales revenue totaling 800 million yuan, Chongqing Daily reported.

In 2015, Chongqing Customs processed 3.3 million cross-border e-commerce manifests of imported goods, with revenue totaling 786 million yuan.

A total of 295 companies are registered for cross-border e-commerce and payment processing, and warehousing and logistics. E-commerce giants such as JD.com and Taobao have both established branches in Chongqing Municipality.

Chongqing Customs are considering launching more international routes to support the development of cross-border e-commerce.
