The contest was cosponsored by the Chongqing Liangjiang New Area Party Work Administrative Committee, the China Documentary Association, the CCTV Movie Production Center and Chongqing Broadcasting Group.
The competition, which involved micro-movie work collection, preliminary selection, online voting and panel review, lasted for more than one year. A total of 23 works won awards; more than 200,000 people took part in online voting.
The works reflect the dynamism and development of Liangjiang arising from its reform and opening up. Apart from individual movie lovers, the contest also attracted the participation of professional movie companies. More than 200 micro movies were collected. Huang Xiang, deputy CEO of the Chongqing Broadcasting and TV Group, spoke highly of the contest. He said that Chongqing TV will broadcast some of the winning microfilms to further showcase Liangjiang New Area’s sound investment environment and development momentum.
Zhang Li, head of the publicity department of Chongqing Liangjiang, congratulated the wining contestants and thanked the Chongqing Film Group for its support.
He hoped that more people will take part in recording Liangjiang and thus leave precious video documents of the reform and development of the new area.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
