Liangjiang New Area signed an agreement with Harbin Institute of Technology Robots Group (HRG) on April 8, liangjiang.gov.cn reported.

Series of projects with a total investment of one billion was reached. The robot projects will settle down in Liangjiang New Area Shuitu High-tech Industrial Park.
The agreement is expected to benefit Liangjiang’s robots industry since the agreement mainly includes Robots body and parts manufacturing and establishing a Chongqing subsidiary of HRG.
The new company is expected to reach an annual output worth 1.5 billion yuan, and hand-in taxes worth 450 million yuan.
Harbin Institute of Technology is one of the earliest institutes in China that conduct robots technology research. It manufactured China’s first spot welding robot, arc-welding robot, wall-climbing robot, space robot, and lunar rover.
HRG was formed in 2014 with the joint investment of Heilongjiang Provincial Government, Harbin Municipal Government and Harbin Institute of Technology. It has rapid development over the past year.
Its products cover industrial robots, service robots, and special robots. It is a leading company that specializing in robots industry, with the most rapid development, integration ability and biggest potential.
Wang Fei, president of HRG noted that HRG attaches high importance to their businesses in Chongqing municipality. The cooperation is a strategic one which means the group will explore new development modes and solutions to promote the robots industry of Liangjiang New Area.
Tang Zongwei, deputy director of Liangjiang New Area Administrative Committee, noted that HRG will play a positive role in Liangjiang’s launching of robots with proprietary intellectual property rights
So far, Liangjiang New Area has been successfully implementing works regarding standards inspection, professional training, financing and leasing, demonstration and operation, and incubation.
Ling Yueming, director of Liangjiang New Area Administrative Committee, Tang Zongwei, deputy secretary of Liangjiang New Area Party Work Committee, Tang Zongwei, deputy director of Liangjiang New Area Administrative Committee, Han Jiecai, vice president of Harbin Institute of Technology, and Wang Fei, president of HRG, attended the signing ceremony.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
