Liangjiang New Area opened its first cultural communication group themed on aviation on May 20.
The project will establish an outdoor science popularization base at Liangjiang Aviation Industrial Park in Longxing Town.
There will also be a series of aviation experience centers, called the Aviators’ Homes, where visitors can experience dynamic flight simulations and receive UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) and model airplane training. The first Aviators’ Home will open this September in Liangjiang New Area.
Each Aviators’ Home is expected to attract over 10 million yuan and be the nucleus of aviation culture in its respective region.
The program will offer aviation products and services to Chongqing people taking advantage of the centers and the science popularization education base.
The aviation industry in Liangjiang New Area has developed from scratch. The area has been working on infrastructure, aviation operation, maintenance, professional training and financial support. The municipality is expected to have an annual manufacturing capacity of 150 fixed wing aircraft and 100 helicopters.
Liangjiang Aviation Industrial Park has attracted more than ten famous companies from both home and abroad such as Pilatus and Engstrom. The total investment is over 30 billion yuan, with annual output value expected to surpass that figure.
The Aviators’ Home program will help Liangjiang New Area combine product R&D with enhancement of the general public’s aviation awareness. Through that process the area hopes to reach its ultimate goal of enhancing the competitiveness of its aviation industry.
