A Makers+ Incubator has been established at Xiaoyang Innovation community at Liangjiang New Area on May 20, liangjiang.gov.cn reported. “Maker” refers to people who turn innovative ideas into creative products.
The incubator will help young makers start-up their own businesses by offering tutoring, office building and angel investment.
It will provide all-round services to local start-up companies, including open courses, Aliyun Start-up Colleges, and Tech Day.
“Thanks to cloud computing, small and medium sized companies can greatly reduce their costs,” said Xing Ge, general manager of the Start-up Incubation department of Alibaba.
The first innovation community in southwest China, Xiaoyang Youth Community has attracted over 59 start-up companies. It offers a start-up cafe, joint office space, and a professional incubation center.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
