CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles Co's new research center opened in Liangjiang's Yufu Industrial Zone on May 26.
Technologies related to unmanned railways will be researched and developed at the new center.
Xiao Jingfei, head engineer of CRRC Chongqing, pointed out that the center will emphasize the development of a new straddle-type monorail transit system and will undertake design tasks from CRRC.
CRRC will send 14 specialists to the Chongqing center to support its development, according to Xiao.
Compared with the original straddle-type monorail transit, the new one will be lighter and more efficient, and use carbon fiber and aluminum profiles.
More importantly, the new monorail transit will occupy the new signal control system.
"The new monorail transit will occupy unmanned railway technology and all work related to fault diagnosis will be finished automatically," said Xiao.
