Chinese entertainment company Perfect World Pictures signed agreements with 31 enterprises in the Liangjiang New Area to strengthen cultural and entertainment industry in the region.

The company will oversee projects related to the funding, production and distribution of films, and online game development.

Perfect World has exported online games to more than 100 countries and regions worldwide since its establishment in 2004.

The company has also produced more than 50 films and television works, winning more than 70 professional awards.

Liangjiang New Area has been transitioning its focus from the manufacturing industry to the tertiary industry in recent years and has put particular emphasis on the cultural industry.

The area will develop tourism, film and internet industries to cultivate a cluster of creative culture enterprises and build Chongqing into a cultural and recreational travel destination.
