Excited children in Chongqing enjoyed visiting the Chongqing Garden Expo Park with their parents on Sept 17, taking part in a series of activities to promote interest in science.

The event is an important part of this year’s National Science Popularization Day, which falls on the third weekend of September each year. The Chongqing Garden Expo Center in Longjinghu Park, located in the Northern New District of Chongqing, will host the event for a whole week.

In order to get more people involved in the event, the park provides materials and tools for children to make DIY potted plants with the help of their parents. Anyone who can give the correct answer to a scientific question will get a special gift.

Activities including making a mini potted plant and an exhibition focused on hi-tech planting are all designed to attract visitors to the park. The event will also reach out to schools and communities, spreading scientific knowledge and encouraging people to learn more.
