Pierre Dejoux, president of business strategy and service division at Otis Elevator Group, attended the 11th Annual Meeting of the Chongqing Mayor’s International Economic Advisory Council (CMIA), held at the Chongqing Yuelai International Conference Center on Sept 24.
He met with Ling Yueming, the Party secretary of Liangjiang New Area, to discuss further cooperation between Otis, the world’s largest manufacturer and maintainer of people-moving products, and Chongqing, especially with Liangjiang New Area.
He also expressed his intentions to invest in Liangjiang New Area and expand the company’s business reach in Chongqing.
Ling was keen to note the achievements of Liangjiang New Area in recent years, and hoped that Otis could discover more about Chongqing and Liangjiang New Area, and take advantage of the opportunities available there.
Otis is a unit of United Technologies Corp, a leading provider to the aerospace and building systems industries worldwide. Founded more than 160 years ago by the inventor of the safety elevator, Otis offers products and services through its companies in more than 200 countries and territories, maintaining approximately 1.9 million elevators and escalators worldwide.
The meeting invited over 30 presidents and CEOs of world-class multinational companies, including ABB, Lafarge, and Suez Environment and Energy Group. CMIA has become an annual event since it was first held in 2006. It plays an important role in Chongqing’s economic and social development, promoting Chongqing to the rest of the world.
