Henkel KGaA, a Germany multinational specializing in adhesives, ushered in a new era of automated operation at its Chongqing distribution center, after upgrading its Warehouse Management System (WMS), liangjiang.gov.cn reported on Sept 26.
The upgraded system can optimize the warehousing process by automating storage, dispatching, reloading and sorting. The automated system allows the warehouse to increase its efficiency by 20 percent.
Located at the Yufu Industrial Park in Liangjiang New Area, the warehouse covers an area of 10,000 square meters, storing over 500 kinds of automobile adhesive materials. The warehouse with its upgraded WMS is expected to serve more than 70 automobile manufacturers, including Chongqing Changan Automobile Company and Changan Ford Automobile Company.
The company, founded in 1876, is active both the consumer and industrial sectors. It is organized into three globally operated business units: adhesive technologies, laundry and home care, and beauty care.
