China has long been heralded as a land of opportunity for foreigners. The country frequently ranks among the top destinations in the world for job opportunities.
Among the cities vying for the best global talent is the municipal city of Chongqing. The city hoped to attract thousands of applicants to fill positions by hosting three themed job fairs on Nov 28 and 29.
More than 250 companies and official departments attended the three fairs over the course of two days at the Yuelai International Convention Center in Liangjiang New Area, as part of the 2016 Chongqing International Talent Innovation Entrepreneurship Symposium.

One fair was aimed at encouraging overseas high-level talents and creative projects to conduct business in Chongqing, while another was organized by different districts and counties in Chongqing to seek well-educated applicants to fill positions in local science research institutes and universities.
The third fair was hosted by Liangjiang New Area and was targeted at domestic and overseas talent who desire to working in IT-related and innovative companies located there.
More than 54 companies from Liangjiang New Area took part in the job fair, seeking a total of 550 people to fill 320 job descriptions. These included Liangjiang Financial Company, Jiangbeizui Investment Group, Chongqing Hi-Lex Group and Saic-Iveco Hongyan Commercial Vehicle Co Ltd.
