The outpatient department of Chongqing Liangjiang New Area No 1 Hospital opened to the public on Dec 9, marking the full launch of the new medical facility.
The outpatient department boasts advanced medical treatment equipment such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanners and Digital Subtraction Angiography systems.
State of the art business administration systems have also been introduced to the department to streamline services, such as self-register, ticket printing and online appointment systems.
The hospital accelerated its specialized projects and six clinical departments have been built, including general surgery, traditional Chinese medicine, recovery treatment and cardiovascular medicine.
A junior doctor training class has been established through collaboration between the hospital and Chongqing Medical University. Every year over 160 hospital staff from the hospital will attend short-term training classes to promote their professional abilities in health care.
The national second-class public hospital was funded by the Liangjiang New Area government. The hospital was completed in March after a three year construction period and a 245 million yuan ($36 million) investment. The complex spans 44,000-square-meter and has 20 floors.
