Kawasaki Heavy Industries, a world-leading robot construction company, launched its robot construction base in Liangjiang Shuitu Industrial Park on Dec 17, marking a notable step in the development of Chongqing’s robotics industry.
With a planned investment of 200 million yuan ($28.74 million), the Kawasaki project in Liangjiang began last April with plans to build a new robotics system integration project and robot construction base. It is expected to reach an annual production value of about 1.5 billion yuan ($216 million).
The first stage of production has been put into operation with an expected production of about 6,000 robot unit bodies. The project covers robot system integration, robot construction, and robot system production.
The construction base will provide high-quality robot-related products for domestic and overseas automobile producers and companies with China Compulsory Certification in the industry field. Its launch will help Liangjiang New Area to build itself into a world-leading intelligent producer.
As a leading company in Liangjiang’s robotics industry, Kawasaki currently has approximately 50,000 industrial robots on sale around the globe, covering different industries such as automotive, electronics, and machinery manufacturing.
