Major construction projects at the T3A terminal of Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport are nearing completion, with the runway capping finished. The terminal is expected to be put into use during the first half of 2017.

The construction area of the new terminal building covers 530,000 square meters, twice as large as the existing T1 and T2 terminals. A runway currently under construction will be able to accommodate the A380 – the world’s largest passenger plane.

After the terminal is put into operation, Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport will cover an area of 700,000 sq m. The new terminal’s annual passenger capacity will be 45 million and its annual cargo capacity 1.1 million tons.
